Metro Global Holdings Corporation (MGHC) and Fil-Estate Management, Inc. (FEMI) were two of the sponsors to FVR's launch of the Philippines' First Online Presidential Library.

A comprehensive reservoir of resources outlining the former president’s private and public life, the Fidel V. Ramos (FVR) Online Presidential Library was launched at the National Museum of the Philippines on Ramos’ posthumous birth anniversary, March 18 th , 2023. FVR had passed away. FVR would have been 95 at the time has he not passed away the year before in 2022

“We gather in this historic hall to commemorate his 95th birthday anniversary, and witness the launch of a pioneering project which he started in 2016. I believe that he is with us in spirit, said former first lady and Ramos’ wife, Amelita Ramos said during the launch, concluding “We are witness to a pioneering project which began in 2016. I believe he isbeaming with pride and joy watching our friends, partners, and family in lively and meaningful conversation,”

Ramos played an integral role in the creation of the museum as people know it now, said the National Museum’s Director-General Jeremy Barns.

Specifically, the former chief executive had “in February 12, 1998, approved Republic Act 8492, the ‘National Museum Act of 1998’ in a ceremonial signing at Malacañang, giving the National Museum a special law that served as its charter, established a board of trustees and granted broad powers as well laid down an ambitious road map in support of its mandate, duties and functions as well as an institution of education, culture and science,” said Barns.

Roberto de Ocampo, who was Ramos’ finance secretary and currently the Chair of the FVR Legacy Initiative, said….

“The FVR Presidential Library is pioneering nationwide and takes its takes place among that of other former international heads of state,” said Ocampo.

The online library depictsa visual timeline of Ramos’ storied military and civilian public service career spanning almost 50 years since he was Philippine Constabulary chief in the 1970s under President Ferdinand E. Marcos. It features archival photos and videos, plus interviews from people who knew him personally, released on the FVR Legacy’s YouTube channel.

The company donated not merely to FVR’s memory and this noble cause in his name, but also because the website, which can be logged onto at www.fvrlegacy.org, will contribute to the literacy of the youth in particular but certainly not exclusively, by bringing to light the contributions of their past presidents on nation building, protection of democracy, and all other peripheral historical information contained in the site.

Ramos had succeeded former president Corazon Aquino, serving from 1992 to 1998, and passed away on July 31, 2022, at the age of 94.
